HELP US RESTORE A JEWEL OF THE LATIN QUARTER
The Chapel of St. Séverin
in the Church of
St. Séverin
(Paris, France)
In the heart of the Latin Quarter, a masterpiece is in danger.
In the Church of Saint-Séverin, a jewel of medieval Paris a few steps from Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Chapel of St. Séverin. This double chapel dedicated to the two saints Séverin, was built between 1495 and 1515. The mural paintings that decorate the chapel are the work of Sebastien Cornu, a contemporary of Hippolyte Flandrin and a student of Ingres. These paintings have never had a thorough restoration since their creation.
To save the Chapel of St. Séverin by collecting the necessary funds for its restoration, the Fondation Avenir du Patrimoine à Paris is launching an appeal to your generosity.

Thanks to an initial sponsorship, restoration of the Saint-Séverin chapel started in October 2022. The city of Paris, owner of the building and project manager, oversees the project. This represents eight months of work for the restorers.
Under the expert supervision of City of Paris curators, restorers of mural paintings, stained glass artists, sculptors, masons, floor layers and lighting technicians, will intervene successively.
However, this is not the end of the story! We still need to find another 100 000 € for the restauration to be completed.
We need your help to complete this work and let the Chapel
of St. Séverin regain its original splendor.
Thank you for your generosity!
